Week 2 – The Practical, Well-Priced Dacia Logan
Meet the new Dacia Logan MCV (Maximum Capacity Vehicle), a modern, practical and functional family-friendly car. We’ve taken a closer look at its capabilities this week at Dacia Retail and we hope you like what we found…
Let’s start with the fact that it’s the most affordable estate car on the market from its list price and its cost-of-ownership perspective – but it doesn’t feel cheap to drive at all. Yes, Dacia prides itself on its frugal ethos and the Logan MCV adheres to that with entry-level Access trim, but mid-range Ambience and top-spec Laureate trim offer a raft of extras seen in more prestigious brands’ vehicles, giving you the option to add in your favourite features.
Three punchy engines are available to power the Dacia Logan MCV, with the new SCe 75 engine being one of them; offering 73hp from the 3-cylinder, 1,000cc engine, you can achieve 52.3mpg combined and CO2 emissions of 120g/km. Dacia’s TCe option brings you enhanced performance without excessive price – thanks to turbocharging technology, the TCe 90 produces 90bhp from its 3-cylinder, 900cc engine, yet still achieves 57.7mpg combined and CO2 emissions of 109g/km. If you’re seeking ultimate fuel efficiency, the dCi 90 diesel engine achieves an impressive 80.7mpg combined and emits only 90g/km CO2. Impressed? We are.
When you consider the Logan’s affordability, the cabin exceeds expectations. It rides comfortably, and the controls are nice and consistent. Its simple layout is intuitive and easy to use, and its tech is pretty advanced too – a touchscreen navigation/sound system is available, along with parking sensors. Top-spec Laureate trim offers electric windows front and rear, air conditioning, Bluetooth® phone connectivity, chrome air vent surrounds and some exterior satin trim. It also adds stability control for supreme safety.
What makes the Logan stand out?
Now it’s time for the biggest selling point of all – space. The Logan MCV offers peerless practicality thanks to its 573-litre boot, expanding to 1,680 litres with the rear seats folded flat. That’s enough space to take a family of four on holiday with a pram, everyone’s suitcases and even the dog – or a big IKEA shop.
And where would we take it? On a family road trip to the beach, with our water sports equipment tucked into the large boot or on the handy roof rack! Enjoy quality time with the people that matter without having to worry about space, thanks to the practicality of the Logan MCV. Add in the all-in-one boot liner and boot organiser to contain the sand and wet gear, making it easy to tidy up after all of the fun.
And don’t forget, Logan MCV comes with three years’ breakdown recovery and Dacia’s three-year, 60,000-mile warranty, which can be extended to five years/60,000 miles or seven years/100,000 miles. That’s complete peace-of-mind motoring right there.
For maximum space, a comfortable ride, incredible affordability and unique aesthetics, the Dacia Logan MCV is most certainly a winner. We like it best in clean, crisp, solid Glacier White paintwork, which shows off its chiselled panels.
So that was the second installation of our four part Dacia of the week series. Find your local Dacia dealership to book a test drive or find out more about the new Dacia Logan.
